Long_hot_dog_in_bunTheme: DOTTED I.  6 instances of the letter ‘I’ in the puzzle literally have the letters D-O-T directly above them.  Then there’s the revealer at 36-Across.

What’s Good: Innovative Theme

Very brief write-up today, as I’m pretty pressed for time.

I just want to say that I liked this a lot.  I was totally on its wavelength, didn’t get what was going on until I was at least 60% filled in (that’s a good thing), the theme helped me finish the puzzle, I had a great “aha moment,” and I don’t think I’ve seen this done before.  This all makes me very happy.

Sure, there have been puzzles done with this same basic theme concept, more or less, but this stands alone in many ways, for sure.

The fill isn’t really sparkly at all, but it’s not bad, either.  It gets the job done without being gross-looking.  So, like I said, I’m happy.

Great job, Elizabeth.
