Sorry for the late/non-post today. I was going to wait a little longer to do this, but whatever. This is as good a day as any, especially since I’ve been reduced to 1990s-style Internet access for a while.
It occurred to me a while back that, while I love studying the puzzle and connecting with you all daily, I kinda hate writing this blog (or at least this *style* of blog). So this will be my last daily post about the New York Times puzzle. There are a number of valid reasons for this, most of which I don’t see a need to share publicly, but I’d be happy to chat with you via email if you’d like.
I will still be musing about puzzles here intermittently. Not sure what it’s going to look like, but this blog needs to do some evolving. And I paid for the dang thing until the end of the year, so I feel like I should write something every now and again.
I think of this as a very freeing next-step. I plan to get back to constructing (haven’t completed a puzzle in the whole 5ish months I’ve been blogging) and solving copious amounts of puzzles daily, rather than just focusing so heavily on this one. The NYT is still my fave, but…I have needs that can’t be met with just one puzzle a day. I’m also looking forward to collaborating more with some of the fine people I’ve met here.
When I feel like complaining, praising, ranting, musing, whatever, I’ll write again. Maybe it will be often. Maybe it won’t. Maybe it will be about the NYT puzzle, maybe it will be about something else. Don’t know. But if you’re a regular follower, I really want to thank you for paying attention to the nonsense I’ve thrown out here, and also for your (mostly) open-minded, compassionate approach to the puzzleworld. I encourage you to stay tuned for more stuff. I still believe there’s a good, healthy puzzle conversation to be had here.
Talk to you soon,
